Bronycon pictures 2/3
Yep this was fire day and all sorts of stuff was happening here JHaller and the rest headed out to chipotle to eat and it’s pretty darn good. We don’t really have them up our… OH NO… IS THAT. Yeaaaaah that’s also going to be on Haller’s report. Heheheh… Tiki Burger was incredibly fun to hang out at, you had a mish mash of everything from sports bar to neon lights, to balloon artist, etc. Good times.
After that, we all would meet up at holiday inn and play some SSBB on the Wii. Wished I spent a little more time drawing but I was having too much fun meeting everyone to care!
On the last day there we decided at the last minute to join everyone for the new york trip and we had fun in the toys r us, disney store, lego store, and rockerfeller center before Will and I had to take off!
wow, a picture where i actually don’t look goofy. love it!
So this is probably a stupid question, but does anyone feel like making a Bronycon masterpost? Linking to all the various pictures from various tumblrs?
For a start, this would be mine:

If anyone does, please note me. I wanna see ALL the pictures :)
finally, the last day.
my flight left at 9pm, and we had to check out of the room by noon. so afterwards i was kinda just hanging around, until i was joined by ahmedz and darkly spectre. we decided to go watch the new spiderman movie to kill time. it was good, surprisingly good. i’d compare it to the batman revamp: a little more realistic, a little more believeable, a little more fun. peter parker was just the right kind of awkward, spiderman just the right kind of snarky.
after the movie, we went to burger king one more time, and then i took a cab to jfk. during the 8 hour flight i got about 3 hours of sleep, and after 5 hours in spain, the last 3 hour flight went by in a jiffy.
so, my resume? it was great.
i wish i could’ve been there the first day as well, mostly because i wanted to buy more stuff. but other than that, i met some great people, shook quite a few hands, had an interview made, fun, and made 2823 dollars.
i’d say it was a success.
until next time.
after getting back from new york, bcs lay down to sleep, and me, empty10 and pigfish went into the lobby/outside to chill.
after everyone else returned we went to get pizza. we grabbed all the leftovers since the place was about to close.
i’ll permit myself this once to post something technically nsfw, because it would kinda break the flow if i posted it on my nsfw blog. after pizza, we decided to draw dick-in-a-(pizza)box.
after that we randomly lounged around the hotel room, trading sketches, counting money, and stuff.
first stop was the supposedly largest toys ‘r’ us store in the world. i don’t know if it actually was, but they had a motherfucking ferris wheel INSIDE THE STORE. plus a MOVING DINOSAUR STATUE and a LIFESIZE BARBIE HOUSE. great scott!
after that it was the disney store, nintendo store, and lego store. at the lego store they had this awesome miniature version of the plaza outside, and right in front: LEGO FIGURES TAKING PICTURES BACK AT THE VIEWER! it was grand.
a few more pics from the burger evening, and then: NEW YORK CITY!
megasweet took us on a tour, mainly consisting of visiting various shops on times square. will and mxc had to leave earlier, and afterwards we others got lunch. i forgot the name of the restaurant, but protip: don’t order chicken wings. they were really whole wings. it was almost impossible to get the meat of em.
afterwards the group split into two parts: those who wanted to see empire state building, and those who were too tired to continue. i was with the latter group.
(aie, forgot one cosplay pic from the aj/rarity set)
after the closing ceremonies we went to get some burgers. here’s a few assorted pics from that evening.
oh yeah, see that doctor whooves in the big group picture on the stairs? he was absolutely perfect. the costume was good, but most of all his face was like the perfect bastard crossbreed lovechild mix of matt smith and david tennant. i hope someone has a closeup shot of him.
first pic: pretty much my expression at any given time during the con.
pic of aj and rarity up against each other: i’ll never forget this one cause i was instructing them to “get up against each other as if they were angry at each other”. they did, but not close enough, so i told them to “get closer. squish your boobs together!”. they actually did, after quite some laughter.
pic of discord and chrysalis pulling apart shining armor: i’ll never forget this one either, because as i was instructing them, i suddenly had john delancie behind me. he told them something about going into the main hall. i looked at him, then turned back to instruct the cosplayers, when a sudden flicker of recognition made my brows wrinkle. i turned back around and asked him “are you sir john delancie?”
“No.”
after taking the picture i went after him and shook his hand. quote: “i just wanted to thank you for being on this project…thing…whatever. i can’t think of anything to say.” yep, i seriously had nothing in my head after grabbing his hand. he was cool about it, and i floated back to the cosplayers.
ok, so second day, last few hours. around 3:30 i had a group of people coming up asking me if they could interview me. it was the crew for a site called “my little podcast: frenchy is magic”. With video and everything. i agreed, and after having found their translator, we began. (they all spoke a bit of english, but not well enough for a whole interview apparently. they told me they had two translators, of which one was in line to get an autograph, and the other untraceable.) it was a quite nice interview, and i’m looking forward to the result.
after artist alley closed i walked around taking pictures of cosplayers (see above), and then watched the closing ceremonies.
if you ask me it was a bit overdone, especially when the announcer started screaming “smile, smile, smile” into the mic as everyone was leaving, but it was ok i guess. john delancie got standing ovations for just getting up on stage and a round of applause after every sentence. tara strong and lauren faust had apparently left early, and so we were left with the staff congratulating themselves and the attendants for the rest of the time.
